Bad GPS Directions May Have Caused This Deadly Car Accident

A Chicago man was fixated on his GPS unit while driving in Indiana recently, police say, and drove off a derelict bridge, plunging 37 feet. His wife was killed in the accident.
Police allege that Iftikhar Hussain was so focused on his nav unit that he failed to heed warnings that the bridge was closed, which it has been since 2009. According to NWI Times, some barricades had been moved prior to the accident, and the GPS may have told the Hussains that it was a valid route.
While Iftikhar survived the accident, his wife Zohra was killed. The Chicago couple were driving to visit relatives when the accident happened. The bridge is located in East Chicago, Indiana, a suburb of the Windy City.
