Here's Your First Look at the Need For Speed Reboot

Need for Speed, the long-running series of racing games that spawned an unfortunate silver screen dud, is just about ready to come out of the garage after a complete overhaul.

And holy cow does it look good.

The new game, which is set to debut this fall, will be a total reboot: New storyline, new environments, new features, and a whole new slew of customizable cars. The game is being developed by Sweden's Ghost Games for Electronic Arts, in conjunction with Speedhunters—the online car community that was first founded to support the Need for Speed gaming franchise, but which soon expanded into its own huge entity.

The new game promises "deep customization, authentic urban car culture, a nocturnal open world, and an immersive narrative that pulls you through the game." Judging by this teaser trailer, it'll be a visual stunner, too.

The game is slated to come to PC, PlayStation4, and XBox One in Fall 2015.
